About Me

resume #1 retouched largeJess Russell is a Multi-Award Winning, Best-selling author, and RITA finalist!Jessica-Gibbons head shot

Jess lives in New York City with her husband but disappears to the Catskill Mountains whenever she can. She is a sometime actress, occasional artist, accomplished seamstress, and floral designer–In other words, she loves being creative.

So, inevitably, the blank page beckoned… And what started out as a lark turned into an honest-to-goodness book, The Dressmaker’s Duke! Which, to her utter surprise and joy, became an award-winning bestseller.

When she is not making teepees and foraging for mushrooms in the woods, acting on stage, or creating treasure out of trash, she can be found pecking away on her next novel.

Her second book, Mad for the Marquess, finaled in the Long Historical Romance category of RWA’s RITA Award! It’s not currently available, but she plans to reissue it soon, along with three new books in her Reluctant Hearts series: Crazy for the CountessLost to a Lady, and Daft for the Duke.

Awards:

THE DRESSMAKER’S DUKE was a double finalist in the National Readers Choice Awards for Best First Book and Best Historical. Also finaled in the Heart of Excellence Readers Choice Contest. The book came in first in the Fool for Love Contest, Golden Apple Awards’ Secret Craving Contest, the Indiana Golden Opportunity Contest and the Golden Rose Contest (also winning the best of the best). And finaled in the Great Beginnings, Emerald City Opener, and the Lone Star Contests.

MAD FOR THE MARQUESS was a finalist for the prestigious RITA Award in the Long Historical category.
